This series explores the use of metallic soluble salts on polished translucent porcelain. Colours were kept in the blue range for the exhibition installation at the Cairns Art Gallery. Applied at the bisque stage, the soluble salts migrate through the thin walls sometimes making a pattern on the other side. The element of chance plays a big part in the results which can be effected by many things. These pieces are all hand polished and not glazed. They can be used for serving food and handwash with care. They look great in pairs or small groups with contrasting patterns.
Each piece is unique.
