These pieces were created for the exhibition “The Sentinels” which referred to a group of very large Red Penda trees that were saved from the loggers in the early 1900’s when all other accessible trees were cut down for timber.
The image were made in the cyanotype process which dates back to the Victorian era. Images have been exposed on the vitreous porcelain tiles using cyanotype chemicals and the sun and digital negatives.
They are sealed with clear matt acrylic so they can be wiped clean, Not to be put in hot water or chemicals.
These tiles feature in the book “Cyanotype: the Blueprint in Contemporary Practice.
