The Nature of Blue, a solo exhibition at Cairns Art Gallery (September – November, 2018) was inspired and driven by my increasing involvement with cyanotype printing, an historic photographic process. The exhibition explores the connections between the themes of my prints on paper and silk and my porcelain surfaces. The exhibition explores key areas of my practice – materiality, surface and light, reflecting my rainforest environment, the strong tropical light and shade and the deep layering of my surrounds.
