Description
This stunning vase has a crater or lava type glaze in a range of bright blues.
This series is all about texture. These vessels explore the use crater slips and glazes to create deep texture in the glaze surface. A reactive ingredient is used which liberates gas during firing causing the surface to bubble and foam. The surface can be solidified at different stages of the melting process causing bubbles or craters after the gas has expired.
A fine white stoneware clay is used and vessels are vitreous and can function as flower vases. Not suitable for food. The surfaces can be delicate, so extra care needs to be taken.
Hand washing recommended.
